About Me: Madeline Maxwell is Professor of Communication Studies and Director of the Conflict Resolution Center at the University of Texas in Austin. The CRC provides mediation and facilitation services and training to the campus and community and presents programs on the relation between pop culture and peace and conflict. Each summer high school students attend the UT Global Ethics and Conflict Resolution Summer Symposium. Dr. Maxwell has written extensively about communication in the Deaf Community, as well as conflict communication. She is currently analyzing the language of mediations, individual consultations and group dialogues. She is a mediator and dialogue facilitator. Courses in the program provide basic and advanced certificates of training in mediation and facilitation as well as theory and research.
