Susan B. Schultz is Program Director with the Center for Public Policy Dispute Resolution at The University of Texas School of Law. Ms. Schultz draws from her years of experience as a mediator and regulatory attorney to provide alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services and education to governmental entities. The Center opened its doors in 1993, and its mission is to promote the appropriate use of alternative dispute resolution in Texas government. Ms. Schultz has been trained in mediation, public policy dispute resolution, facilitation, and arbitration. Since joining the Center in October 2002, Ms. Schultz has assisted with ADR trainings, tracked ADR legislation in the Texas Legislature, published the Center’s ADR Legislative Reports, and consulted with various governmental bodies to refine or implement ADR programs. Ms. Schultz has given presentations on public policy ADR and teaches a public policy dispute resolution course at the University of Texas School of Law. Ms. Schultz has mediated multi-party cases and facilitated groups with diverse goals, including developing an educational legislative strategy and negotiating a rule for the provision of mental health services in Texas. She is on the Council of the State Bar of Texas Alternative Dispute Resolution Section and a member of the Association of Conflict Resolution, Texas Association of Mediators, American Bar Association Dispute Resolution Section, and Austin Bar Association Administrative Law Section.
