Hotel Information

The conference will be begin on Friday, October 4 at 10:00 a.m. (with registration from 9:00 to 10:00), and will end on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. An outline of the conference schedule is available online.

The event will be held at the Radisson Hotel Old Town, which is located in Alexandria, Virginia (902 N. Fairfax Street). Alexandria is just minutes from Washington, DC, and the hotel is only about a mile from National (Reagan) Airport. The Radisson provides a free shuttle to and from National and the hotel. There is a metro stop right at National Airport as well.

If you need accommodations at the Radisson, you must contact the hotel directly, by calling 703-683-6000. Our rate is $124 per night (for one or two people). In order to get this discounted rate (and to make sure we reach our quota!), tell the hotel that you are with the National Conference on Dialogue & Deliberation. Please make your hotel reservations before September 13.

If you would like to share a hotel room with another conference participant to cut costs, we will try to help you arrange that. Call Polly Riddims, our Logistics & Amenities Chair, at 410-889-4700.

The conference will provide participants with dinner on Friday evening (during an informal, light-fare reception), a continental breakfast on Saturday and Sunday and a brunch on Sunday. Lunch on Friday and lunch and dinner on Saturday will not be provided. We will provide you with some dining and entertainment options for the evenings. The Radisson offers a lunch buffet for a discounted price for conference participants of $8.00 plus tax. There are also restaurants and a large supermarket within walking distance of the hotel.

There is shuttle service from the hotel to Old Town Alexandria until 10:00 every evening, but there is also a beautiful walking/bike path right behind the hotel that runs along the Potomac, through Old Town, and all the way to D.C. There are places near the hotel where bikes and kayaks can be rented. More information about such options will be provided on the conference website and will be given to you at registration.

If you have any further questions about logistics, or have any special needs or requests, please do not hesitate to contact Polly Riddims at 410-889-4700 or .
