2006 NCDD Conference Application for Session Leaders

Thank you for your interest in leading a concurrent workshop at the 2006 National Conference on Dialogue & Deliberation. Use the following form to submit your proposal for the session you would like to lead. We always receive over twice as many proposals than we can accept, so please complete this application thoroughly and thoughtfully. See you in San Francisco! Deadline for submission is May 31.

Session Description
Please provide us with a brief one-paragraph description of your proposed session for use in the conference program. Include learning objectives and an overview of handouts/materials (if any). Maximum 150 words.
Abstract Summary (For scholars interested in submitting papers to be presented at the conference.)
In addition to the brief session description, please provide a 100- to 200-word abstract of your paper here. If selected, you will be asked to submit your paper by July 7. Theory or research-based proposals will be peer reviewed by dialogue and deliberation scholars.
Session Outline
Please run us through the elements of your session. Specify the activity types (lecture, large-group discussion, small-group dialogue, Q&A, etc.) as well as the various topics that will be covered during the workshop. Please note that we have found that while participants expect and value participation in workshops at NCDD conferences, they also value the opportunity to hear stories, knowledge, and theory from experts. In most cases, audience participation can not and should not replace hearing the workshop leadersí stories and experience.
