Hi: I am Sivagami Subbaraman (Aka: Shiva) and I work in the Office of Human Relations Programs at the University of Maryland, and also hold a joint appointment with the Office of LGBT Equity on campus. I develop many of the diversity related educational websites for our office and the University--I am by no means a professional web developer!--I came to it via English and Women's Studies which I still teach....mostly in Feminist theories of women of color in the US.

I come therefore to the practice of dialogue from my background in women's studies, feminism, and a lot of community based activism. Our office has a fairly extensive Intergroup Dialogue Program, and we are also part of the Multiversity Project out of U Mich that will look at the practice in higher education. I am very excited to be part of this community, and look forward to a lot of discussions..
