Checking in and Connecting

Hi All

I have done a lot of online conferencing and especially appreciate spaces that allow a participant to introduce themselves, check in, etc. This seems like a good one for me in this conference.

The Truth and Reconciliation project touched me deeply. Thanks John for making me aware of it.

As for myself, I have just returned to the Monterey Peninsula at 54 and am a second generation Italian American. I graduated from Carmel High and have spent most of my adult life working with and encouraging my artisan husband. At 49 I went back to school, got my MA and did doctoral work in Transformative Learning and Change at Calif. Inst. of Integral Studies. I am passionately interested in our seemingly simple ability to learn and grow through participation.

I have been impressed by Sandy, ncdd and the co intelligence initiative and have found these online spaces very helpful and encouraging at a very challenging time of family crises and a need to develope a career late in life.

I would like to meet facilitators in the Monterey Bay/Santa Cruz area especially as peers in business developement. The Belmont N. CA conference in June was fantastic for me. I am developing some co creative contacts from that and would like to develope more.

I would like to develope www.livedlearning.net more, as a community resource and as a way to advertise services.

I was very involved in convening deliberative forums in Ca throughout the 90's. I taught at the UC Davis Public Policy Institute (http://www.nifica.org/) and I worked on framing a business issue for the Kettering Foundation. I'll be at NCDD in October. If I remember rightly, as I used to live in Houston and Austin, Salado is very beautiful but sometimes floods down by the river. I will have to look it up on a map. My husband, a gifted musician, was in the honky tonky business down there for quite awhile.

I wanted to respond to nancy. I was also at the Belmont event and had a hand in creating it, and so glad that it worked for you. I wonder if we met. I will also be at the conference in Denver and hope to connect with you there if not sooner. I live in the East Bay and teach a class on dialogue processes with hopes of spreading dialogue far and near. Sometimes it feels like it's the only chance we've got.

I also went back and got my masters (in my 50's) at University of Creation Spirituality, focusing on dialogue and authentic participation for community building. I look forward to meeting you.
