Hello, NCDD members!
I wanted to send out a quick message to all of you for two reasons:
1. To remind you about some looming conference deadlines.
2. To welcome our 62 newest members (yes, 62!!!).
2004 CONFERENCE DEADLINES
First of all, if you?re planning on attending the 2004 National Conference on Dialogue & Deliberation, there are three important things you should take note of:
- The registration fee increases from $250 to $350 at the end of the month (this Saturday)!
- Applications for session leaders are due at the end of the month as well (if you need a few extra days, just let us know something?s coming).
- Scholarship applications are now online (at http://www.thataway.org/conference/2004/scholarships/index.html) and the earlier you apply, the more likely you are to be granted some assistance.
For those of you who are new to NCDD, the 2004 NCDD Conference is a unique opportunity for leaders and future leaders in the dialogue & deliberation community to share resources and strategies, solve problems together, build relationships and initiate collaborative projects. The second National Conference on Dialogue & Deliberation will take place at Regis University in Denver, Colorado, October 23rd through 25th, followed by a day of excellent post-conference training on the 26th.
Practitioners, scholars, trainers, artists, activists and students will enjoy a one-of-a-kind gathering, with ample time for networking, skill-building, hearing from some of the key leaders in the field (including Jim Fishkin, Glenna Gerard, Harold Saunders and others), and (of course!) engaging in dialogue and deliberation. Much more info can be found at http://www.thataway.org/conference/index.html.
WELCOME NEW NCDD MEMBERS!
Now that I?ve reminded you about conference deadlines, I want to warmly welcome NCDD?s 62 newest members. The new members are listed below, and I have attached an Excel spreadsheet that lists everyone. Please note that Andy is in the midst of developing an online database of members that will allow us to search for each other according to state, country, name, organization and other features.
We have 7 new international members: 5 Canadians and two from the United Kingdom. And we have 55 new members from the States: 6 each from California and Colorado; 5 from Missouri; 4 each from Virginia and Illinois, 3 each from Texas and Washington, 2 each from Minnesota, North Carolina and New Jersey; and one each from Arizona, Connecticut, Washington DC, Kansas, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Utah and Washington!
