Hello all. I am the Co-Administrator of a community based website and forum www.yourlincolnpark.com
We just moved to a new forum platform so the current forum seems bare. check the archived forum for the meat and potatoes of what we've done. http://216.146.232.142/cgi-bin/lpsforum/forum/default.asp
I thought to introduce myself I would just copy and paste our mission here for you to get an idea of what it is I do.

Our goal is to better our community by allowing citizens access to information, resources and responsible dialog. We believe that education, coupled with open communication helps to form relationships that build stronger social capital and creates a strong community.
The aftereffects of such activity can be exponential. Civic activity is growing all over the nation. People want to be involved, and put their mark on their communities. People want to share their talents, time and concern for the betterment of their community.
We at YourlincolnPark.com understand the need to offer the vehicle to realizing and propagating this goal. Our main site offers a plethora of information and resources which can be utilized in many ways. We are active in the creative manufacturing of ideas and motivators for the community.
We welcome anyone who wishes to give to or take from this process who has a sincere attitude towards bettering the community and really being a part of a "community" in the traditional sense of the word.
Lincoln Park is our Community.

Some of our more recent accomplishments in this area have been helping a citizen implement a dog park for the community, helping to get started a "Town Hall Forum" for businesses and the city to get together and discuss issues, as well as listen to special guest speakers that can help our businesses through various recources. We help to motivate people to approach the city council about issues they are concerned about, and My involvement in getting the Michigan Cool Cities Project started in our community; it is a grant program that is awarded to communities that the State Selects based on the merits of the project that each community has put together. I head up this project with our community improvement commission and the mayor's office.
I look forward to picking some brains and hopefully having mine picked too. Talk to you all soon!
Amanda Rowe
