I promised Jed Miller from Web Lab that I would let NCDD's members that are affiliated with colleges and universities know about an opportunity for experienced dialogue facilitators - especially those with online facilitation experience - to serve as paid "dialogue monitors" for a 2- to 3-week online dialogue on the issue of gay marriage. Monitors would be trained, and they would be paid a couple of hundred dollars a week, for 10-20 hours of work per week. I thought you folks might know of some tech-savvy people involved in dialogue, LBGT issues, and/or interfaith issues.
Working closely with Web Lab's director of community, monitors will be responsible for following several dialogue groups, selecting featured discussions, tracking trends and any trouble, recommending community management decisions, and reporting dialogue results.
Those of you who subscribe to NCDD's main discussion list will have already seen this message today, so I apologize for the duplication.

Here's Jed's announcement:
Web Lab and the American Friends Service Committee are preparing an online dialogue for faith and spiritual communities on the "marriage amendment" issue and the "war of words" that polarizes our communities and leaves people of faith and good will with little to no room to examine their own concerns and talk thoughtfully with others.
We're seeking dialogue monitors to watch over a 2-3 week self-regulated discussion among several faith communities. If you or someone you know has experience in online discussion, LGBT issue dialogue, faith-based dialogue -- or ideally some combination of the three -- please contact Jed Miller at for more information.
Please do not post this message on additional lists, but feel free to forward it to individuals with related experience or interests.
The dialogues will be held using Web Lab's Small Group Dialogue (SGD) technique, in which monitors do not usually participate, but act instead as reporters for Web Lab, tracking activity and occasionally intervening as necessary. For more about SGD, see NCDD or Web Lab sites: http://www.thataway.org/resources/understand/models/weblab.html

Thanks so much!
