Request for D&D Sources

I would like to start compiling a comprehensive collection of sources relating to dialogue and deliberation: books, articles, monographs, manuscripts, etc. My intent is to create highly informative abstracts or summaries of the best.

The works can be by scholars, practitioners, or others. They can be intended for a scholarly, practitioner, or general audience. The topics can be broad or narrow. They can address dialogue or deliberation directly, or they can discuss matters to which D or D is pertinent but only implied.

In short, if you've read something and consider it germane to and valuable for your thinking about and practice of D &D, I'd like to know about it.

It would help immensely if, when recommending a piece, you could provide two or three sentences about it. Citations or information about where the original can be found would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Michael. Are you collecting this info for just for yourself, or do you plan to share it on a website or publish it in some way?

You know we're planning on gathering this sort of information in our online "Learning Exchange," which is currently under development. Perhaps you would want to store what you gather there? I've been thinking that you might make a great Moderator of the Learning Exchange once it's up.

We're developing the Learning Exchange as an interactive place where people can post, explore and comment on documents such as articles, dissertations, program reports, case studies, etc.

Dear Michael:

If you haven't already come across it, Adam Kahane's new book, Solving Tough Problems is remarkable. It describes about a dozen multi-party dialogue processes around the world stemming from his involvement in the Mont Fleur process in South Africa. It is straightforward, frank in its description of challenges and failures, and generative in its suggestion of ways forward.

You might check out the International Association of Facilitators. The literature in this area is relevant and growing rapidly.
