I fell in love with dialogue after entering a 'liberal' doctoral program from a predominantly 'conservative' background. I have grown in wonderful ways and currently co-facilitate an undergraduate liberal-conservative dialogue course at the University of Illinois. I am especially interested in connecting with others involved in university or community dialogues on contested social issues (sexual orientation, domestic violence, etc.)—particularly in exploring ways of expanding this movement to offer normal citizens an alternative to the "culture wars." With my dissertation complete soon, I would love to contribute to and collaborate on this kind of a project. |
