Julie Segal Walters is the Democracy Lab Director at AmericaSpeaks. The Democracy Lab works to identify and develop ways to promote civic engagement – particularly focused on institution and movement building at the national level. Before joining AmericaSpeaks, Julie was the Director of Civic Action Strategies, a citizen political participation and democracy development firm focused on building sustainable, strategic, and effective citizen action. Julie has also directed civil society development programs in Kosovo, and was the Legislative Director for Americans United for Separation of Church and State. Julie is a lawyer, is fluent in Spanish, and is originally from Indianapolis, IN. |
