Kai Degner founded The OrangeBand Initiative in 2003 while an undergraduate in James Madison University's Integrated Science and Technology (ISAT) Department. After going on to complete an MBA at JMU, he now offers technical, facilitation, and project management services through his own consultancy, Converging Voices LLC. He is also an adjunct faculty member in JMU's Honors Program. His major recognitions include the All Together One Recognition, Best Honors ISAT Thesis 2003, and the Friends of the Shenandoah River Special Recognition Award. Kai was born in Germany and lived there for six years prior to moving to Maryland with his family.
