As an independent consultant, Ms King provides strategic advice and process implementation to effectively address complex public issues requiring community and stakeholder involvement. She also created and managed Resource Solutions at the University of Alaska Anchorage, a program focused on using collaborative approaches to reach public decisions. She applies collaborative decision making techniques to a variety of issues when working with local, state, federal and tribal governments; private and public interests; as well as members of the general public. She has lead several research efforts to improve collaborative and participatory decision making on public issues important to Alaska ranging from urban transportation and other land and natural resource issues to government to government decision making and contaminant clean up in rural Alaska villages; and conducts capacity building opportunities by offering various collaborative leadership workshops and other community services.
