DeAnna Martin is a dynamic facilitator, trainer and nonprofit director of the Center for Wise Democracy. She has more than ten years experience in the private, public, and nonprofit sectors. Her background includes mediation and conflict resolution as a volunteer with the local Dispute Resolution Center and as a Lead Trainer with the Alternatives to Violence Project at Washington State prisons; organizational development consulting with government agencies; and community organizing and advocacy work with nonprofit organizations like the Youth Volunteer Corps, American Diabetes Association, Women's International League for Peace & Freedom, and at Seattle University.

The Center for Wise Democracy (CWD) is a 501 (C)3 non-profit organization developed out of Jim Rough�s work with Dynamic Facilitation and the Wisdom Council. The CWD was formed in May of 2001 to transform the way we talk and think collectively and make collective decisions. The organization is dedicated to the application of Dynamic Facilitation, Wisdom Councils, and Creative Insight Councils to create a new paradigm of self-governance in public settings like cities, counties, states and nations.

Participated in the community authoring of NCDD's Principles of Public Engagement. Facilitated a 2-part workshop at the 2008 NCDD conference that produced a pilot project idea for how we can work together, blend our methods, and produce quality research to improve a community or region with D&D processes.
