I work with people on creating change and on bringing authentic participation into processes and decision making. I am very interested in how power, hegemony and cultural imperialism can inadvertently come into play in our work. I also love exploring where different fields of practice overlap and where we can learn from each other.
My work is influenced by the local and national cultures I have lived in. I was born in Chicago, mostly grew up in Michigan and have also lived in Florida, the Netherlands, Norway, Texas, Thailand and the West Indies. I'm planning a move to Australia this fall to live, work and pursue my PhD.
For formal education, I have a bachelor's degree in sociology and a masters degree in Organizational Management and Development. The master's I did at Fielding Graduate University where I also completed certificate programs in Dialogue, Deliberation and Public Engagement and Evidence Based Coaching. I'm currently learning about communities of practice through CPSquare.
I love working on-line and I also look forward to meeting many of you face-to-face in Austin!
At Inviting Change we are issuing an invitation for people and organizations to actively participate in the changes that impact our lives. We partner with people to create an environment where they can work towards the changes they want - providing the tools and support to turn their ideas into reality, making the movement or breakthroughs they know are possible. Examples of tools/services include coaching, organizational development consulting, facilitation and research.
