| About Me: |
I recently graduated from Sterling College in Vermont with a degree in Conservation Ecology. In addition to pursuing conservation ecology, I studied the use of dialogue in community action and social change. My senior applied research project looked at how participants are affected by dialogue groups that focus on environmental issues, such as the discussion courses run through the Northwest Earth Institute. For a recent independent study course I learned about a collaborative process in my community that is working to create solutions for the local school system. I have helped plan and facilitate dialogues on my college campus, including a student-wide dialogue to celebrate and improve student health. I recently began working with the New England Center for Civic Life at Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, NH on a research project through the Kettering Foundation. There I am assisting in the coordination of forums on the economy throughout the Northeast, which will be used to help legislators understand the importance of deliberative dialogue and how they can use this tool in decision-making. I would love to pursue dialogue as a career, so please email if you have advice or leads on how to progress in this field of work! |
