About Me: |
Nancy Kranich, a past president of the American Library Association (ALA), advocates for promoting libraries as hubs for civic engagement. Nancy leads ALA's civic engagement membership initiative, moderates public forums, and serves on the board of the National Issues Forum Institute (NIFI). Over the coming year, she will launch ALA’s new NIFI Public Policy Institute. Nancy is currently completing a fellowship on E-democracy at UW-Milwaukee. She teaches at the Rutgers University School of Communication and Information and works with the Rutgers University libraries. She speaks and writes frequently about the role of public, academic and school libraries in promoting civic engagement. |
