Philip Thomas has over 20 years of experience working in the fields of conflict transformation, peace-building, and D&D. He has worked with the United Nations, the Organization of American States, as well as Civil Society Organizations in a number of countries in Central and South America. This work has involved the design and implementation of intersectoral dialogue processes bringing Government, Private Sector and Civil Society groups together to work on issues as varied as land, labor, inter-ethnic relations and reparations. He co-authored with Bettye Pruitt Democratic Dialogue: A Handbook for Practitioners, a joint publication of the UNDP, OAS, CIDA and International IDEA that was released last year. In addition to his international consulting, he also serves as Co-Coordinator of the Generative Change Community.
We are a global community of practice interested in contributing to making "dialogic change processes" around global issues more effective. Our focus is on collective learning processes that are "inquiry driven" and help practitioners articulate, examine and enrich the (often implicit) theories of change or action logics that inform social change strategies and interventions.
