Ron Thomas is in private practice and adjunct faculty in planning at the University of Illinois-Chicago and University of Georgia. Since 1970, Ron has had a career in planning and public policy leadership aimed at system change and process innovation using new tools and technologies. For two decades, working with national elected, appointed and professional leaders such as Lawrence Halprin, Sasaki Associates, EDAW and Jones and Jones. While being located in Washington, DC, he had major roles in national, program developments that today are some of the mainstays of local planning such as Main Street, sustainable development, urban design strategies, context sensitive transportation solutions, and neo-traditional community design which have since emerged as important change-driven strategies for livable communities. |
