Demos and Independent Sector invite you to a presentation and discussion with Michael Edwards on his new book Civil Society Its Uses, Abuses, and Its Promise. The book provides a challenging reinterpretation of the role played by civil society in advancing democracy and social justice. Edwards is the Director of Governance and Civil Society at the Ford Foundation. The event will take place at Demos?’ offices on Fifth Avenue in New York City on Friday, April 9, 2004.
