Follett Foundation Announces New Participatory Educational Design School

The Follett Foundation (www.follettfoundation.org) has just announced the approval of a new charter school in Idaho, whose creation is an attempt to implement the Participatory Educational Design process developed by associates of the Follett Foundation. The school, called the Garden City Community School, will open in the fall of 2006. It is founded upon democratic principles of learner engagement. The ultimate goal of Participatory Educational Design is to engage entire communities in the design or re-design of public education systems.
