My Personal Info
Full Name: Dr. David Campt
NCDD Member Since: Nov. 29, 2007
About Me: My passion for dialogue was forged from growing up in racially riven Detroit during the 1970’s. I started facilitating as a graduate student working on an race relations course, and there after began to use dialogue as I consulted to organizations about cultural competency. After finishing my dissertation at UC Berkeley, I began working for the Clinton White House as a specialist in dialogue and evaluation for the Presidents Initiative on Race. Since 1999, I have been a consultant specializing in collaboration, dialogue, diversity.
Much of my work has been focused on large scale dialogues (200-4,000 people); my skills in designing and facilitating such meetings emerge out of my several year blessed assocation with AmericaSpeaks, though I sometimes organize large scale dialogue events under my own auspices, The DWC Group. Because I often speak out in the media on diversity and racial issues, I am sometimes known as The RaceDoctor. My latest triumph is the release of my book, The Little Book of Dialogue for Difficult Subjects.
