After working to develop the Democracy Lab (D.L.) online course during her year at ICG as an AmeriCorps*VISTA, Malia is now the Democracy Lab Program Coordinator. Malia is excited to focus her time and energy on continuing the success and growth of the D.L. program, which teaches young adults about dialogue and deliberation. With a B.A. in Sociology and a background in youth education and childhood development, Malia is passionate about working with youth to empower themselves, improve their lives and their communities. Malia has recently started the Regis Masters in Education program and is working towards her special education teaching license. As Malia spends most of her professional time sitting at her desk typing away, you can typically find her outdoors during her free time. Biking, running, hiking, camping, rock climbing- Malia’s always on the go, looking for new activities, adventures, and people to share them with.
